Valentin Nieroba

Art is more than expression to me. Over the years it has become my therapy — a way to understand myself better and to process life with all its highs and lows.

In my creative process I lose myself in bright, soft colours. I let myself be inspired by things I encounter in everyday life, and I carry those impressions onto the canvas. My work usually takes shape intuitively, without a fixed plan. My use of colour shows how I perceive the world, and how I keep rediscovering myself on the path to self-discovery.

The open-ended quality of my work is also a deliberate choice. It stands for the spontaneity and the spirituality we encounter every day in life. Not everything has to be finished or clear-cut. Sometimes meaning only emerges in the moment you let yourself engage with a piece.

With my paintings I want to fill walls with energy, lightness and optimism. I want to create spaces that feel alive and that make people pause for a moment, feel something, or see the world through different eyes.
